Laser Extensometer -- EXT-62-LOE

Print Print

Using the principles of laser diffraction, this unique system is designed to accurately measure the cross section of carbon and other opaque fibers and filaments in the diameter range of five to fifty microns. The unit is available in both single and dual array configuration. The single array system is used in the measurement of circular or near-circular fibers. The dual array system measures two sections which are 90° apart and is recommended when fiber eccentricity exceeds 0.2. An optional bar code reader is available to aid in sample identification and data storage and retrieval. The Laser Fiber Measurement System may be used as a stand-alone measurement system or in conjunction with United's Single Filament Tensile Test System. The unit is capable of providing accurate measurement data for up to 120 mounted fibers per hour. Typical measurement system resolution and accuracy are 0.15 % and 0.5 %, respectively, of fiber diameter.
