Now one chamber has the flexibility to support a wide range of elevated-temperature applications on MTS 858 testing systems. This versatile new chamber includes: A removable controller that can be positioned for quick access to the on/off switch, temperature controller, and light switch from the front of the load frame. This easy accessibility makes this chamber an ideal solution when space is tight. Accommodation of larger pull rod diameters to facilitate axial-torsional applications. U-plugs, which allow the chamber to be pushed back away from the frame while leaving the load train intact. This feature provides full access to the grips, specimen, and instrumentation, such as an extensometer. This convenient feature is especially useful when first installing grips into the load frame. Increased temperature range, which extends the chamber's rating to -75 to 315 ºC, compared to -75 to 275 ºC for the previous design.
